According to SPORT, FC Barcelona are keeping a close eye on the performances of former La Masia talent Sergi Dominguez, who is enjoying a standout season at Dinamo Zagreb and attracting growing interest from clubs across Europe.

After spending the first half of the last season with Barcelona’s first team and making some official appearances under Hansi Flick, the defender decided it was time for him to move on in the summer of 2025.

And, the decision to join Dinamo Zagreb has proved to be the right one as the defender has grown significantly since moving to Croatia.

He has established himself in a side that competed in the Europa League this season, reaching the play-offs, and has become an essential player. The ex-Barcelona youngster has accumulated 3,395 minutes across 39 official matches.

Dominguez has been a key figure in Dinamo Zagreb’s league-winning campaign, finishing 15 points ahead of Hajduk Split. His consistency at centre-back has been one of the foundations of that success.

Gaining experience and visibility

Barcelona sold Dominguez for €1.2 million while retaining 20% of any future transfer. Having joined the club in 2017 as a youth player, he left at the age of 20 in search of regular top-level football.

And his performances at Dinamo Zagreb have not gone unnoticed, including by Barcelona. The Croatian league has become a regular scouting ground for major European clubs and is increasingly viewed as a platform for emerging talent.

His form has sparked interest from several clubs. In Italy, Lazio have considered making a move. Dinamo, aware of his development and market value, are not expected to entertain offers below €10 million, and will seek potentially closer to €15 million.

Barcelona remain attentive to his progress because of the 20% sell-on clause included in his transfer, as a future move could generate a significant return.
