📺 Everton to 'raise concerns' with PGMO after non-call against West Ham

VAR and the PGMO are once again under the microscope in the wake of Everton's 2-1 defeat at West Ham on Saturday.

A tense affair at the London Stadium saw Nuno Espírito Santo's Hammers bank a vital three points in their bid to ensure Premier League survival, thanks to goals from Tomáš Souček and a stoppage-time winner through Callum Wilson on either side of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's 88th-minute equaliser.

But it was a contentious handball non-call that has left them seemingly no choice but to approach the refereeing body in a bid for clarity.

Replays show West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes clearly touching the ball with his hand in the box while on the back of Thierno Barry, with no penalty awarded despite Michael Salisbury reviewing the passage of play.

It is another instance where VAR has struggled to stand up to scrutiny in recent seasons, and this time, with massive implications for West Ham's bid for survival as well as Everton's late push for possible European football next season.
