The top three in the Scottish Premiership all won, but none of those victories were exactly straightforward.

Three points cover Hearts, Rangers and Celtic going into the split.

Nerves are already frayed and the tension is going to ramp up further over the closing five games.

Here's a selection of your views on the weekend action…

'Character' from Hearts, 'momentum' for Rangers, Celtic 'depressing'

Rangers fan Ronnie: “Not a 90-minute performance but a title-winning performance from Rangers. We were very poor for 45 minutes but got a break with our first goal to get back in the game. The second half we were magnificent. Miovski and Chermiti dispelled any doubts that they should lead the line for the final five games. Brilliant Rangers. We are the form team, we have the momentum.”

Hearts fan Frank: “This side has a lot of character. It was not an easy watch at times but it’s job done. Goals for all three strikers. Kerjota deserves a start and might prove to be the winning card for the run in.”

Celtic fan Peter: “Good three points. It will be edge-of-the-seat stuff until the end of season with no proven goal scoring forward in the team. Other than Benjamin Nygren it’s hard to see where goals might come from. Fingers crossed that Arne Engels, Callum McGregor, Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda have big finishes to the season as our success, or lack of, is totally dependent on them.”

Hearts fan Alfo: We got the slice of luck to turn the match that’s eluded us over the last couple of games but ran out worthy winners in the end. Hearts’ performances against the top teams bodes well for the post-split fixtures. All fans want is for the Jambos come out swinging in the last five games. Do that and a jaw-dropping title win will turn this group of players into absolute legends.”

Celtic fan Martin: “This team has been limping along playing uninspiring football and eking out victories in games that should have been settled by half-time. If, by some miracle, it does win the league it will be the poorest Celtic team to have done so in many a year. So depressing to watch!”

Rangers fan Louise: “After the first half I feared the worst. With Hearts and Celtic both winning it was almost true to form we would be the ones to drop points. What a turnaround from Rangers in the second half – five goals in 16 minutes! I think the credit needs to go to Danny Rohl here.”

Celtic fan John: “Desperately poor. No-one seems to want the ball. How many times do we pass back and invite pressure? When did anyone last see Celtic just blootering it out of defence against a Scottish team? No chance of winning anything with his mentality.”

Hearts fan David: “Confidence building. A late win but shows the determination of Hearts. The team give their best which is good going forward. Team is getting stronger and better.”

'Step in right direction for Aberdeen'

Livingston are stranded at the bottom but there's an almighty scramble to avoid 11th place and the resulting play-off.

Aberdeen got their first win under Stephen Robinson, Kilmarnock and Dundee shared the points at Rugby Park and St Mirren were edged out at Celtic Park.

Aberdeen fan Alison: “Makes a change coming out of Pittodrie saying that you enjoyed a game – that hasn’t happened for a long time. Thought we played well, if only we had played like that more often this season. We aren’t safe yet, but that was a step in the right direction.”

Kilmarnock fan Frank: “It felt like points dropped. Same old defensive let downs. Has been the story of our season. We are now in the cut-throat part of the season where all the teams in the bottom-six are capable of beating each other. Going to be interesting but listening to Neil McCann, he is full of confidence which is not a bad thing.”

Dundee fan Carl: “A below-par performance with windy conditions not helping our team against a lively Killie. What did help was our players attitude and ‘never-say-die’ team spirit, as well as their fitness and we were so unlucky not to leave with three points. The least said about VAR, not only in this game but in many this season, the better.”

St Mirren fan Ali: There’s so many positives to take from this game and with more clinical finishers we would have had at least a point on the board. We should be confident going into the split and the odds are in our favour with three out of the five games at home.

Aberdeen fan Ross: “Finally, some real grit and determination, proper bottle and fighting spirit. Silky football can take a backseat if the required points accrue and safety is guaranteed. Not out of the woods yet though.

Dundee fan Iain: “What an opportunity thrown away! Almost guaranteed safety if we take that chance. Typical Dundee, making it very hard for themselves – I’m not confident about the remaining games, we seem to have got used to throwing away points.”

St Mirren fan Peter: “A solid performance from Saints again. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a reward for our effort. That’s twice now that we’ve been on the attack in the final minute and the referee has blown for time up with only a fraction of a minute left to play. As the manager stated, it’s frustrating not getting at least a point from a good performance.”

Kilmarnock fan Robert: “We couldn’t take our chances, a lot of backwards play and apart from the penalty save, the goalkeeper was saved by VAR after losing the ball and rushing out for Dundee’s second. Once again, the refereeing decisions were baffling, and it appeared every time a Dundee player fell to the ground it was a foul. Time for independent review on inconsistency, all teams have had issues with referees.”
