A few months back they looked a certainty to secure a return to European football’s top table. But starting with a 4-1 hammering by Arsenal in December they have managed only three wins in 10 Premier League outings.
Their latest outing – on Friday night – saw Villa lose 2-0 to bottom side Wolves at Molineux. Although still third in the table Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are all rapidly gaining ground on Villa.
