West Bromwich Albion have appointed their former striker Jason Roberts as a non-executive director.
Roberts, 48, who spent nearly four years with the Baggies between 2000 and 2004, joins chairman Shilen Patel, director Ethan Gobetz and executive director Mark Miles on the Albion board.
Albion said Roberts will not be involved in the day-to-day running of the club but will provide "independent oversight and constructive feedback" to the board in his role and use his "extensive experience of English and international football to inform club strategy, planning and decision making".
Roberts, who scored 14 goals in 16 appearances for Grenada, played 100 games for the Baggies, netting 27 times before leaving for Wigan in January 2004.
He also had further spells in the Premier League with Portsmouth, Blackburn and Reading before retiring in 2014.
"I am delighted to be joining the board of the club that is such a huge part of my family's history," Roberts said.
"This is an important moment for the football club, and I am honoured to contribute to shaping its strategic direction for the future."
Roberts will combine his new position at Albion with his current role as head of football development at Concacaf, having been with the FIFA confederation since 2017.
