🇪🇸🤯 Marc Pubill’s father revealed in an interview that Espanyol released him as a child because he was considered “too short” and had “poor running technique.” He had offers from Barça and Real Madrid but turned them down.
Due to limited physical development during his early years, he barely played and was often left out.
Eventually, he returned home and joined Gimnàstic de Manresa before attracting the attention of Levante UD.
His physical growth came later, during his first year as a youth player, following a difficult period in which he “wasn’t even in the WhatsApp group.”
Today, he stands at 190 cm and is a regular starter, playing both as a center-back and right-back, for Atlético Madrid in his debut season. He has helped the club reach their first Copa del Rey final in 13 years and their first Champions League semi-final in 9 years.
