Jurgen Klopp’s agent responds to Real Madrid rumours – ‘Nobody has contacted us’

In recent weeks, speculation has intensified regarding the possibility that Jurgen Klopp could become the next coach of Real Madrid.

The rumours suggest that the German manager might be in contention to replace Alvaro Arbeloa, who has found things tough in recent weeks after replacing Xabi Alonso back in January.

Klopp, 58, is currently not working as a club coach. Instead, he holds the role of Global Head of Football for Red Bull, overseeing the sporting structure of the company’s football projects around the world.

And, he is being touted as Real Madrid’s most preferred candidate to become the next manager if they part ways with Arbeloa at the end of the season.

Klopp’s agent responds

Speaking to the platform 365Scores (h/t Mundo Deportivo), Klopp’s agent Marc Kosicke addressed speculation surrounding the German coach and a possible return to management.

“There is no need to answer questions about matters that are just rumours. Nobody has contacted us at this time,” he said, amid speculations that Klopp could even return to manage a national team at the 2026 World Cup.

The agent also responded directly to the claims that Klopp could leave Red Bull at the end of his contract to return to coaching with Real Madrid.

“Jurgen Klopp is very happy with his current role at Red Bull, and what is being said about negotiations to coach Real Madrid are just rumours for now,” he emphasised.

Klopp to leave Red Bull?

This comes amid speculation that Red Bull are not entirely happy with the outcome of Klopp’s appointment and the two parties could go their separate ways in the summer.

Despite those statements by his agent, the report claims that discussions may be developing behind the scenes about Klopp potentially leaving his administrative role within Red Bull’s football structure next summer.

The same sources suggest there could be informal contacts between Klopp’s representatives and the Real Madrid board to explore the possibility of the German coach taking charge of the Spanish club next season.

If that scenario were to materialize, Real Madrid would reportedly be Klopp’s preferred destination should he decide to return to coaching after his current administrative phase.
