Hakan Calhanoglu has given Inter Milan fans a major boost by confirming he is targeting a return for the upcoming Derby d’Italia against Juventus.
The Turkish midfielder received a warm welcome from supporters outside Inter’s Appiano Gentile training centre.
Several fans gathered for photos and autographs, and one of them asked directly whether he would be back in time for the February 14 showdown.
“Yes, yes, I can make it,” Calhanoglu replied, with quotes via FCInterNews, also reassuring fans that his recovery is progressing well.

The Inter playmaker will miss the trip to Sassuolo this weekend, but he is expected to resume training with the rest of the squad next week.
That timeline would put him in contention for one of the most important matches of the season.
Calhanoglu’s return would be a significant lift for coach Cristian Chivu, especially given his influence in dictating tempo and providing goals from midfield.
With the title race finely balanced, Inter will hope their midfield talisman keeps his promise and returns just in time for the clash with their fiercest domestic rivals.
