Inter Milan 5-2 Roma – Beppe Marotta Praises Home Fans: “San Siro Was Bubbling With Nerazzurri Passion”

Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta praised the San Siro faithful for their support after Sunday’s 5-2 victory over Roma.

The runaway Serie A leaders took to Twitter to celebrate their emphatic triumph on Easter Sunday, as reported by FCInterNews.

Unfazed by a three-game winless league streak before the international break, the Nerazzurri tore Roma apart last weekend.

Indeed, Cristian Chivu’s side ended their longest winless run in Serie A since 2023 in emphatic fashion in front of a sold-out San Siro.

Lautaro Martinez stole the show on his return from injury, bagging his first league brace since a 2-0 win at Pisa in November.

Meanwhile, Marcus Thuram returned to the scoresheet for the first time since a 5-0 rout of Sassuolo in early February.

It was a perfect response to several disappointing results last month, as 75,267 spectators at San Siro enjoyed a thrilling attacking display from the Nerazzurri.

Sunday’s triumph saw Inter protect a seven-point lead over second-placed Napoli, who squeezed past AC Milan last night.

With only seven games left to play, Chivu’s charges are on the verge of winning their 21st Serie A title.

Needless to say, optimism is bursting at the seams at San Siro, with Inter also vying for Coppa Italia glory.

“Thanks to all our fans for the support and passion you’ve shown and continue to show every day,” read the tweet posted by the Milanese club and signed by the President. “Yesterday, the whole stadium was incredible, brimming with Nerazzurri passion.

“Let’s keep going like this, united and determined, to reach new goals together. Forza Inter, Giuseppe Marotta.”

Inter’s title quest resumes on Sunday as they head to Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia to face top-four hopefuls, Como.
