Frank Leboeuf on Xabi Alonso:

🗣 “The guy is one of the smartest guys like Pep Guardiola as a coach. And if Chelsea wants to achieve something, they have to change their mind. They cannot be in the control of the pitch, but they can be in the control of the finances and everything going on in the office.
But when it’s about the field, Xabi Alonso should be the only one in charge, and hopefully they’re gonna understand that. I’m very pleased that they picked Xabi Alonso. Congratulations to them, good call, I’m pretty sure Xabi Alonso will do very well if he has the control.”
🗣 Teddy Sheringham: “Chelsea need a top class goalkeeper, and Jordan Pickford would tick every box for what they’re looking for, without a doubt.”
Danny Murphy urges Alonso to give Liam Delap another chance:
🗣 “Delap is a young lad, and he brings some characteristics that Chelsea don’t have. He’s different to Joao Pedro so I think Xabi Alonso will give him a crack.”
Danny Murphy: “I think Alejandro Garnacho has struggled, and the fans haven’t taken to him. A lot of Chelsea’s wide players have struggle to be honest.
If one was going to leave, I think it would more likely be Garnacho than Liam Delap.”
