🚨🇲🇽 FIFA have cancelled 40% of their hotel reservations for the World Cup in Mexico City.
With fewer than 100 days until the World Cup’s opening, FIFA cancelled 40% of the 2,000 reservations it had held for several weeks in the capital.
🗣 Alberto Albarrán Leyva: “There are fully booked hotels where FIFA has cancelled 200 or the 180 rooms,” so he assured that heading into the event “there have been more cancellations than reservations.”
Despite the event’s proximity, the recorded hotel occupancy is just one-third of the 63,000 available rooms in Mexico City.
