Bonny was born in Aubervilliers, a suburb of Paris, and is of Ivorian descent.

Bonny represented France at the U19, U20 and U21 levels, but will continue his international career at a senior level with the African country.

Bonny, however, won’t be available for the next two friendly games against South Korea and Scotland during the March break later this month.

“He currently has dental issues, so we preferred to leave him with his club so he can regain full fitness, maintain consistency in his performances and join us at a later stage,” Faé said.

The match against Scotland will be played at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, home to Premier League side Everton, on March 31.

Ivory Coast have qualified for the 2026 World Cup and have been drawn in Group E alongside Ecuador, Germany and Curaçao.

Bonny has scored seven goals in 37 appearances across all competitions with Inter this season, his first one at the Stadio Meazza.
