Barcelona remain on the lookout for options to reinforce the left flank in the summer, even as doubts grow over a permanent move for Marcus Rashford, currently on loan from Manchester United.
Names such as Jan Virgili of RCD Mallorca, Victor Munoz of CA Osasuna, and Andreas Schjelderup of SL Benfica have been mentioned as potential targets for the Catalans.
Now, another name has seemingly been added to the shortlist maintained by sporting director Deco for the left wing.
Ez Abde on Barcelona’s radar
Indeed, according to ESPN, Barcelona have set their sight on former winger Ez Abde, currently at Real Betis, as an option to strengthen the left flank.
Abde, 24, made 14 first-team appearances for Barcelona before leaving for Betis in the summer of 2023 in a deal worth €7.5 million.
While the Blaugrana initially retained 50% future sell-on fee for the Moroccan international, they gave up 30% of those as part of the Vitor Roque-Palmeiras deal in January 2025.

So, Hansi Flick’s side still maintain 20% of any future transfer on the attacker, who has scored nine and assisted eight goals from 32 appearances in all competitions this season.
As per the report, Abde is seen as a good fit by Barcelona as an option to provide cover for Raphinha on the left flank, thanks to his pace, trickery, and work rate.
Any move for the Moroccan international, though, will depend on how the Catalans proceed with the Marcus Rashford situation.
The La Liga champions have a €30 million permanent buy option for the Manchester United loanee, which is valid until 15 June.
So, whether they decide to activate it or not will dictate if Abde is pursued or not in the summer.
