Chicago Bears wide receiver Luther Burden III suffered a groin injury in Saturday’s practice and should miss a little bit of time, a source told NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Sunday.

On the final rep of red zone one-on-ones Saturday, Burden and cornerback Tyrique Stevenson got tangled up while the defensive back broke up a pass from Caleb Williams. Stevenson landed on his back and lay on the ground for several moments in visible pain.

Eventually, the cornerback was helped to his feet and received treatment on the sideline from a trainer, who rubbed ointment on the lower right side of his back. Stevenson fought through pain to finish practice despite having to pull himself out of an 11-on-11 period.

Burden walked gingerly toward the weight room under his own power but did not return to practice.

The Bears did not disclose the nature of Burden's injury Saturday.

Safety Cam Lewis also left practice early, making an already depleted secondary even thinner.

Lewis, who is filling in for Coby Bryant at safety, was guarding wide receiver Rome Odunze during red zone period near the end of practice and came off the field limping after the play. He was replaced by rookie Skyler Thomas as the team ended practice with end-of-half situations.

After stretching out his lower body on the sideline, Lewis made his way to the back of a cart under his own power and was driven to the team's training room. The Bears practiced on the fields furthest away from Halas Hall on Saturday, so a cart ride is not always indicative of an injury's severity.

Defensive coordinator Dennis Allen said Lewis would not practice Sunday. Allen said he didn't think Lewis' injury was significant but didn't have a timetable on his return.
