“They both trained today. Still another day to see. Both promising and hopeful they will be fit for Sunday.”
“Stamford Bridge was brilliant [vs Spurs]. It was probably the best atmosphere this season since I’ve been in the first-team. It helps so much when that is the energy. If we can get the crowd like that, it can be a real difficult place to play.”
On interim Chelsea stint:
“From my personal perspective, great learning and experience. Massive challenge. Really thankful [to everyone – staff and players – for the support].”
On Sunderland:
“It’s going to be a great game. Both teams need to win. A real challenging side. We need one more push, three points and up that table.”
“We are more then capable of going there and winning. But we have to be at our best because they are a very good side.”
On Cole Palmer’s World Cup ommission:
“I don’t want to comment on that. The England manager has made a decision. We have full belief and trust in Cole. He’s a quality player. I wouldn’t want to comment on that [his reaction]. I haven’t spoken to him about it.”
“It would be a disappointment if we don’t win on Sunday. We can’t control the other results [amid European qualification chances].”
