Carlos Augusto had been expected to leave Inter this summer with his contract running down, but multiple sources state new talks have started for an extension.
The versatile defender joined from Monza in 2023 at a cost of €15.25m and proved himself in a variety of roles, including central defence, left-back and on the right.
His current contract is coming towards the end, and it was largely assumed that he would be moving on at the end of this campaign.
Inter eager to keep Carlos Augusto
However, Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and more all note that negotiations with the club have sparked up again to discuss a new deal.
The player had been eager for more playing time, so the situation is far from resolved, but he now seems more amenable towards staying at San Siro.
Carlos Augusto made 46 competitive appearances this season on their way to the Serie A and Coppa Italia Double, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
Roma and Juventus were the clubs who had shown the greatest interest within Serie A.
