Rasmus Hojlund confirms he is ‘very happy to stay here for a long time’ after Napoli bought him outright from Manchester United, but reveals Antonio Conte ‘hasn’t told us’ he’s leaving.

The final game of the season with Udinese kicks off at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona at 17.00 UK time (18.00 CEST).

The Partenopei already secured their top four finish and Champions League qualification last week, which means that the clause in his loan move from Manchester United is set to be activated for an outright purchase.

“I’m very happy to continue here at Napoli. I think I’ve got a good connection with the fans, the players, the staff, manager and the whole football club, so I’m very happy to stay here for a long time,” Hojlund told DAZN Italia.

That agreement was an initial one-season loan worth €6m with an obligation to buy in case of Champions League qualification for another €44m.

There was a barbecue at the Castel Volturno training ground this week, which was seen as a farewell party for coach Conte.

However, when asked what message the tactician had passed on to his players, Hojlund revealed there was no big speech or even statement yet.

“We’ve not been told anything. We had a barbecue during the week, getting some nice food, but that’s everything. You probably know more than me if he’s leaving, because he hasn’t told the squad yet.”

Conte has dropped multiple hints, including this evening before kick-off, that this is his last game with Napoli after two years where he won the Scudetto and Supercoppa Italiana.
