“It’s significant that Alonso will be manager. That, means he will have more authority, more influence, more of a say in all aspects of the club.
He will still have to fit into the structure but I think Chelsea recognise that in Alonso they will have someone who is more involved. They want to recognise his track record a as player, his aura, his emotional intelligence and that he’s very hands-on.”
