Liverpool are reportedly trying to hijack Tottenham Hotspur’s move for Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi.
Senesi has already verbally agreed to join Spurs in the summer transfer window, but the move depends on whether they can retain their Premier League status.
Tottenham have claimed back-to-back victories under head coach Roberto De Zerbi, but still sit just one point above the relegation zone.
According to talkSPORT, Liverpool are considering making a move for Senesi.
Virgil van Dijk is on the wrong side of 30, while Ibrahima Konate faces an uncertain future at Anfield.
The Frenchman’s current deal will expire in June and he is yet to sign a new contract.
Senesi is a Premier League proven defender, who excels at playing out from the back, initiating attacks and making crucial interceptions.
He has been a consistent performer for Bournemouth since joining the club in 2022.
The Argentine has made 125 appearances across all competitions, bagging six goals and 10 assists in the process.
He has started 34 Premier League games this season, helping his side climb to sixth in the table.
Bournemouth is keen to extend Senesi’s stay beyond the summer, but it appears the 28-year-old wants a bigger challenge elsewhere.
The Cherries lost key stars Dean Huijsen and Milos Kerkez last summer, and Antoine Semenyo then left to join Manchester City in January.
They are now set to lose Senesi on a free transfer.
Eli Junior Kroupi and Alex Scott are also facing uncertainty over their futures at Bournemouth.
