Inter Milan were crowned Serie A champions on Sunday evening, after beating Parma 2-0 at San Siro, winning the competition for the 21st time.

The victory sends them 12 points clear of second-placed Napoli, with three games to spare.

Inter started brightly and got their first opening inside 10 minutes with Denzel Dumfries glancing a header wide.

The visitors’ first sight of goal came almost midway through the first half, when Mateo Pellegrino found himself in a good position, but he miscued his effort.

Nicolo Barella came the closest to breaking the deadlock, rifling a powerful shot towards goal, leaving goalkeeper Zion Suzuki rooted to the spot, only for it cannon off the bar.

The ball then fell to Marcus Thuram, but Suzuki came off his line to smother the Frenchman.

Thuram eventually beat the Japanese goalkeeper in the first-half stoppage time, firing a right-footed shot past him, giving Inter the lead.

The Nerazzurri continued to dominate after the interval, but created no genuine chance until the 71st minute.

Federico Dimarco sprinted down the left flank and whipped a perfect cross for Dumfries, but the Dutchman could not keep his composure, blasting over.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan sealed the victory in the 80th minute, receiving a precise pass from fellow substitute Lautaro Martinez, before slotting past Suzuki.

Nesta Elphege saw a goal ruled out for Parma, before Suzuki made a brilliant save to deny Davide Frattesi from adding to their woes on the stroke of full time.
