Will Fazakerley's two goals helped Guernsey FC progress to the Southern Combination Premier Division play-off final after a 3-0 win over Horsham YM.

The victory for the Green Lions, who finished third in the division, sets up a final on Sunday 10 May.

They will face either travel to second-placed Haywards Heath Town or host fifth-placed Peacehaven and Telscombe for a place in the eighth tier of English football.

Guernsey will hope they can earn promotion a season after the first-ever relegation in the club’s history.

Charlton Gauvain had two early chances for Guernsey, while Horsham were thwarted by Josh Addison as he made two crucial saves after 30 minutes.

The deadlock was broken six minutes before half time as Will Fazakerley headed in at the far post for Guernsey as they led 1-0 at the interval.

The striker doubled the lead 20 minutes after the break as he calmly slotted home after a precise pass through the middle.

Guernsey's progression to the final was secured with 18 minutes to go as long-serving midfielder Matt Loaring fired in from long range.
