FC Barcelona have taken another clear step in protecting their future, confirming fresh contract renewals for two of their most promising academy talents.
As such, the Catalan giants have officially tied down young prospects Elyott Daussy and Ahmed Abarkane, with both players signing their first professional contracts at just 16 years of age.
It is a strong statement from Barcelona, who are keen to avoid losing top academy talent and instead build a core for the future.
Both players have been standout performers for the Under-16 side this season, playing a key role under the guidance of David Sanchez.
All set for next step in Barcelona academy
Following their progress at the U16 level, both Daussy and Abarkane are expected to move up to the Juvenil B squad next season.
It must be noted that Daussy, a goalkeeper by trade, joined Barcelona in 2023 after impressing in the Mallorca youth setup.
His performances since arriving have reinforced the belief that he could develop into a reliable long-term option between the posts.
Abarkane, meanwhile, brings a slightly different background. Born in Olot and of Moroccan origin, the left-back joined Barcelona from Girona a year after Daussy’s arrival.
His growth over the past season has been steady, and the club view him as a player with strong potential on the flank.
Furthermore, this may not be the end of Barcelona’s renewal activity, as the club is expected to confirm more contract extensions in the coming days as they continue to secure the core of this talented group.
The plan is to ensure stability, reward performance, and prepare these players for the next level within the academy.
