At this point, the future of Marcus Rashford at Barcelona is more uncertain than ever before.
It seemed certain that the club would sign him permanently at one point in the season, especially given his numbers. However, a lot has changed since then, and the club now see his €30 million purchase clause to be a stretch.
There are now talks of the club possibly renegotiating a second loan deal for the player, but it remains to be seen how plausible such a proposal is given how Manchester United see the price to be more than fair.
Needless to say, the situation has led to Barcelona being linked with potential targets on the transfer market.
One option less
In recent weeks, Ajax’s 20-year-old winger Mika Godts has been linked with several of Europe’s elite as a potential target. Barcelona, needless to say, found themselves on the list as well.
Now, however, Matteo Moretto does away with that rumour and makes clear that Barcelona do not see the young talent as a real option.

As relayed by the journalist, Godts has indeed been offered to Barcelona multiple times in recent weeks, but the club is not keen on executing the operation at this point in time.
They prefer a more experienced campaigner for that position, preferably one who brings leadership to the table. A 20-year-old talent does not meet their demands on that front.
Godts has enjoyed an excellent campaign with Ajax this season, racking up 16 goals and 13 assists in all competitions.
Barcelona have scouted him at times and see that he has a lot of potential. However, as things stand, they are looking for someone more experienced, who can also be a leader in the team.
It thus remains to be seen who the Catalans ultimately land, as the ongoing campaign has made clear that they need a high-quality replacement for Raphinha.
