Liverpool spent a lot of money last summer with many thinking that they'd be close to unstoppable.
However, as we get closer to the end of the campaign, it's clear that things haven't worked out the way that anyone would have wanted.
This means that another summer of spending could be afoot, especially since players have already chosen to exit Anfield at the end of the current campaign.
Nobody knows what the Reds' ranks will look like at the start of next season but, at the moment, it feels like Arne Slot and Richard Hughes are trying to cover all bases.

Alisson’s future has been one of the most-talked about things within Anfield over the last few weeks.
Juventus are concretely interested in signing the Brazilian with rumours even emerging that a contractual agreement has already been reached between Alisson and the Old Lady.
However, since he's still contracted to the Anfield outfit, the ball is in their court and it's unclear what they're going to decide to do.
But, a new report has just emerged which could give fans a bit more of an insight.
The report from journalist Ekrem Konur states that Liverpool, alongside many other clubs, are now interested in signing SC Freiburg goalkeeper Noah Atubolu.
"Atletico Madrid show concrete interest in Freiburg goalkeeper Noah Atubolu," he wrote via his personal X account.
"Interest – Atletico Madrid, also Milan, Inter, Napoli, Brighton, Tottenham, West Ham, Aston Villa, Leeds and Liverpool.
"Situation → Scouts watched him live; summer transfer likely."
Who is Noah Atubolu and why do Liverpool want to sign him?
Liverpool fans would be forgiven if Atubolu was a player they hadn't heard of.
The 23-year-old currently plays for Bundesliga outfit Freiburg and is seen as Germany's next Manuel Neuer.
Atubolu is six foot two inches and has arguably been one of Freiburg's best players over the last couple of seasons.
He's known as a "penalty killer" due to his penalty saving abilities and he's even broken a record for the most penalty saves against the same club.
His teammates are well aware of his ability with Vicente Grifo even dubbing him a "magnificent b*stard” due to his heroics.
No fee is mentioned for the young German but, if Alisson does end up exiting L4, it would hardly be a surprise to see him between Liverpool’s sticks next term, even if he hasn’t been called up to the senior squad by Julian Naglesmann yet.
