The ultimate Michael Edwards transfer should be coming to Liverpool very soon.
Let's be honest with the signing of Jeremy Jacquet, the club has pretty much sorted its defence for the next few years. Unless, of course Ibrahima Konate doesn't extend his contract but that is now looking very likely so all is well on that front.
Long-term there's still room to grow and the biggest question of them all will be finding a replacement for Virgil van Dijk when he ultimately runs down his deal in 2027.
But short-term, heading into the summer window, there is going to be only one focus on Richard Hughes' mind to begin with.
Liverpool's greatest weakness this season hasn't been the club's defensive line. Sure that has had its issues. But ultimately, Liverpool are struggling because of a lack of depth in attack.
More specifically a lack of speed and one vs one ability.
With the loss of Luis Diaz, it's only Rio Ngumoha who brings that side of the game on the flanks.
Mo Salah and Cody Gakpo are more inside forwards rather than wingers. They are not players who will look to go on the outside but they will regularly look to cut in and score goals or take shots at the very least.
That imbalance has been evident in attack. At times, Liverpool have looked predictable and easier to defend against, lacking a genuine winger capable of holding width and consistently beating opponents one-on-one.

Meet Tornike Kvaratskhelia, the brother of Khvicha.
He's only 16-year-olds and he's a left-winger who is already training with Dinamo Tbilisi’s first-team.
His style of play is very similar to his brother. Tornike has the same fantastic technique, he loves to dribble past his opponents and his style of dribbling is very similar to Khvicha with the way he is able to take an excellent first touch and change direction very quickly as well as being able to sell the dribble, too.
On top of that Tornike isn't just a one vs one specialist, which is what Liverpool's squad is lacking, but he can make an impact in the final third as well. He scores goals, regularly just like his older brother.
At such a young age he already looks like the complete profit and with Edwards expanding Liverpool's network across the globe which has seen the Reds sign players like Armin Pecsi, Mor Talla Ndiaye and Ifeanyi Ndukwe, Tornike just feels like the ultimate Edwards transfer.
