There was a funny little exchange last night between Del Piero and Richard ahead of the Champions League semi-final first leg between Atletico Madrid and Arsenal.
The ex-Juventus and Italy striker initially spoke about a shirt swap with Thierry Henry after a 1998 Champions League semi-final between the Bianconeri and Monaco.
“I still have the shirt. Tity was already a big name everywhere, so it was a pleasure for me,” he said.
At that point, Richards asked Del Piero if he ever realised how much of a legend he is, and the ex-striker’s reply made everyone laugh.
“Micah, do you see me humble?” Del Piero said, pointing at his outfit.
“Besides jokes, I always think you need to be humble, but that doesn’t mean you don’t understand who you are, where you are, and what you are doing and saying. We love to laugh, but also need to give people the right thought.”
