Habib Beye is reported to have been offered the job at Paris FC should the 48-year-old manager leave Olympique de Marseille at the end of the season, according to Foot Mercato.
Representing the former Senegal international, the Classico agency – which has close ties with the Paris-based club – is reportedly already looking for a new position for its client. A situation that inevitably casts a little more doubt on his long-term future at OM. Chosen by Mehdi Benatia, Marseille’s sporting director, to succeed Roberto De Zerbi on the Olympique bench, Beye is still struggling to win over observers.
This is mainly due to disappointing results – including defeats (five out of the nine matches he has managed since his arrival) and elimination from the Coupe de France – but also because of the style of play and the attitude of his players. All of which has fuelled speculation about his future, whilst the failure to achieve the objective set by the club’s management – to qualify his team for the next edition of the Champions League – could well seal his fate at the helm of Marseille.
