Real Madrid are set to undergo some major changes in the summer, starting from the manager, with Alvaro Arbeloa expected to be axed.
Talks of potential replacements are already doing the rounds with former Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho’s name gaining weight in recent days.
Indeed, the Portuguese tactician’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has reportedly offered him to Los Blancos, while also informing them about a release clause in his contract at SL Benfica.
The said exit clause, which would allow Real Madrid to sign Mourinho for free, is understood to have a deadline.
Guti says no to Mourinho
However, former Real Madrid star and club legend Guti has advised the club against rehiring Mourinho in the summer.

“Mourinho is a great manager, but I think he is no longer in his prime, in the sense that he has just come from Fenerbahçe, took over at Benfica at a very difficult time,” Guti said, as quoted by MARCA.
“And I believe there are managers in better form than Mou whom I would sign,” the Real Madrid icon added.
For his part, Mourinho has left the door open to a possible return to Real Madrid.
In recent statements in Lisbon, when asked about his future, he pointed out that both he and Benfica have a ten-day window after the end of the season to sit down and negotiate his future.
So, it will certainly be interesting to see how things progress and whether Real Madrid decide to bring back Mourinho 13 years after he left the club having won one La Liga title, one Copa del Rey, and one Spanish Super Cup.
