FC Barcelona are preparing for some key alterations to their squad before next season, with the centre-forward department expected to be affected heavily.

A new top striker is the top priority for the summer, with Julian Alvarez being seen as the main target. As for the current options, Robert Lewandowski’s contract expires in June, and an exit seems likely, with still no renewal offer tabled.

And, it appears like his current competitor for the No. 9 position, Ferran Torres, could also face a similar fate.

Barcelona open to offers for Ferran

Indeed, according to The Athletic, Barcelona would be open to listening to offers for Ferran in the summer transfer window.

The 26-year-old forward has scored 19 goals in all competitions this season, equalling his tally from the previous campaign.

However, his form has been inconsistent, with the Spaniard going through a three-month goal drought in 2026, while he also seems to lack the clinical nature of an elite striker, often missing important chances.

These factors have seemingly counted against Ferran, whose current contract at Barcelona expires in 2027, and so far, the club have made no efforts to offer an extension.

As such, the feeling is that Barça would be open to listening to offers for the former Manchester City and Valencia forward in the summer.

Alternatively, as has been reported in the past, the Spaniard could also be used as a bargaining chip in some other operations Barça are planning in order to lower the transfer cost.

So, as things stand, there is a good chance that Ferran could be on the move in the summer window.
