Arsenal Are Keeping A Keen Eye On This La Liga Winger: What Will He Add To Arteta’s Side?

In a recent post on X, journalist Graeme Bailey revealed that Arsenal are keeping a keen eye on Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams. It has been mentioned that the Gunners are eyeing a move to secure the services of the Spanish wide player this off-season.

Williams’ Impressive Form In La Liga

Williams has enjoyed a good run of form at the Spanish club as he has put in a run of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 23-year-old has scored four times and earned six assists in 28 matches for Athletic Bilbao this season across all competitions.

The Spanish talent has proven himself to be a decent performer in La Liga. Therefore, Arsenal would do well to lure him to the Emirates Stadium this off-season.

His current contract at the La Liga club will expire in the summer of 2035, which could make it tough for the Gunners to sign him on the cheap in the upcoming transfer period.

What Will Williams Add To Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta’s Side?

Williams has got the pace to cause a lot of headaches for his marker out in the wide areas. He has got the vision to engineer a few inviting chances for his teammates in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The Spanish sensation can contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals in the final third. Williams is primarily a left-winger but can also function as a right-sided wide player if told to do so by his manager. However, there are some concerns over whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League.

We can expect Williams to add more pace and goals to Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta’s frontline. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the Emirates Stadium next season.

At 23, Williams has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a worthy target for the Gunners to pursue at the end of this campaign. With all things considered, Arteta would be wise to try everything they can to lure him to the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window.
