Robin Gosens lasted only 11 minutes in this evening’s relegation showdown with Lecce, as the Fiorentina left-back limped off with a new muscular injury.

This is a decisive clash to avoid the drop into Serie B, and therefore coach Paolo Vanoli thought it worth the risk to start Gosens even after Thursday’s Conference League quarter-final against Crystal Palace.
Bad news for Gosens and Fiorentina
Gosens pulled up in the opening minutes at the Stadio Via del Mare clutching the back of his left thigh.
He immediately gestured to the bench that he could not continue, so was replaced by youth team talent Luis Balbo.
It has been a difficult season for the 31-year-old Germany international, who scored four goals and provided three assists in 31 competitive appearances for Fiorentina.
Gosens was already ruled out for two months at the end of October 2025 with a left thigh strain, so the fact it is the same leg could suggest a relapse.
Fiorentina already made the trip to Lecce without Moise Kean, Fabiano Parisi, Nicolò Fortini and Tariq Lamptey.
