FC Barcelona have entered a period of intense activity in recent weeks as they shape the squad for next season, both in terms of arrivals and departures.
One of the priority positions that the Catalans intend to strengthen is the centre-forward role, with the club considering an ambitious move that could result in either Robert Lewandowski or Ferran Torres leaving the club.
However, according to Catalunya Radio, the future of Ferran appears linked to that of Lewandowski.
Indeed, contract renewal talks with the Spanish international are currently on hold until the situation of the Polish striker is resolved.
The former Valencia and Manchester City forward’s contract runs until June 2027, and Deco is not in favour of having players in the final year of their contracts. Therefore, Torres faces either a renewal or a sale this summer.
No proposal for now
At present, Barcelona have not made any formal contract offer to Ferran, mainly because they are waiting for a decision from Lewandowski.

The Polish forward, whose contract expires in June, does have a concrete offer from the club, albeit on reduced terms, but has not yet responded.
The former Bayern Munich striker has options to move to the United States, Saudi Arabia, or even Italy, although both he and his family place high value on life in Barcelona.
What is clear is that Barcelona intend to make a significant investment in a leading striker. If Lewandowski decides to leave, Ferran would take on a more central role.
If not, the Spanish international could even be used as part of a deal in one of the major transfer operations planned for the summer, whether involving Alessandro Bastoni, Julian Alvarez, or another target.
Ferran remains a valued player, having scored 19 goals this season across all competitions, his best tally to date. But his future remains uncertain.
