Liverpool Ready to Make Move for Yan Diomande
The summer transfer window is fast approaching and Liverpool could already plotting their marquee signing.
Whilst a lot of work is needed, finding a replacement for the iconic Mohamed Salah has to be right at the top of that list.
The Egyptian King has confirmed his plans to leave the club at the end of the season and will do so for free, despite having one year remaining on his deal.
And now according to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, Liverpool are already pushing to wrap up his replacement…
“Talks Ongoing” for Yan Diomande
According to Plettenberg, RB Leipzig forward Yan Diomande is Liverpool’s ‘top target’ to replace Salah this season. Speaking on X, he provided a big update, saying:
“Yan Diomande is now Liverpool’s top target to replace Mo Salah, with the move approved by all LFC decision-makers.”
“Concrete talks are ongoing with his new representatives at Roc Nation Sports, although no agreement has been reached yet and the clubs have not entered negotiations.”
“RB Leipzig are keen to adjust his salary and extend his contract. PSG, led by Luis Campos, are also in the race and have already held a meeting with his agents.”
The interesting thing about this is that even if Liverpool were to lose to PSG in the race for Yan Diomande, it could open the door for a move for PSG forward Bradley Barcola. The French forward was offered to the Reds last summer, but Liverpool pursued a record-breaking move for Alexander Isak.
Why Diomande?
The 19-year-old forward has burst onto the scene since his £20m move from Leganes last summer. Diomande has managed 13 goals and eight assists across all competitions so far this season.
Any move would come at a hefty price, with RB Leipzig expected to demand £85m+ for the teenager. However, his potential is incredible and he is already showing glimpses of becoming a world-class talent.
