The future of Marcus Rashford remains a big question mark as we approach the final phase of the campaign.

The English international has done exceptionally well since joining on loan from Manchester United, impressing onlookers with his productivity.

Barcelona have an option to secure his services on a permanent deal for just €30 million. But given the club’s financial situation, an agreement with Man United is proving to be difficult.

Rashford waiting for a final meeting

According to Diario SPORT, Rashford is awaiting a final meeting with Hansi Flick, who is expected to explain Barcelona’s situation.

The English international is happy in Catalonia and would want to continue. But Barça’s economic situation is such that they will have to find a creative solution to sign him up.

Manchester United, for their part, are unlikely to lower their €30 million buyout clause. Moreover, Michael Carrick has hinted at the possibility of having Rashford back in the team setup.

Another critical issue is Rashford’s wages. With Man United on the verge of returning to the Champions League, the forward’s wages will be around €20 million.

This will be almost impossible for Barcelona to assume, as the club are already expected to deal with an inflated wage bill for next season.

That is why Deco is already looking at alternatives, with Barcelona now being linked with a move for Brazilian jewel Eduardo Conceicao.

However, the Palmeiras starlet is only 16 and won’t be able to make the move to Europe at least until 2028. The club, therefore, must find an immediate solution as they are increasingly unlikely to be able to sign Rashford on a permanent deal this summer.
