Sunday’s reports claim that Gian Piero Gasperini is disappointed by the lack of public support from Roma owner Dan Friedkin following last week’s back-and-forth with senior advisor Claudio Ranieri.

Gasperini and Ranieri have come to blows in a series of interviews and press conferences and reports earlier this week claimed that the two were effectively ignoring each other at the club’s training ground as a result.
Ranieri claimed in an interview that Ranieri was not among the club’s top three candidates to come in as head coach at the end of last season, while Gasperini has often been critical of the players that have been brought in and of the club’s medical staff as well.
This situation has left fans divided, picking sides and there have been suggestions that it is fairly inconceivable to see both Gasperini and Ranieri working together at the club next season.

Gasperini unhappy with lack of Friedkin support at Roma
According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Gasperini has been left disappointed by the lack of public support from the club’s ownership in the midst of this war of words with Ranieri.
The Friedkins have flown into Rome on several occasions previously when there has been tension between the head coach and the club’s senior management, i.e with Jose Mourinho and Tiago Pinto, and with Daniele De Rossi and Lina Souloukou, but this time around, the Americans are not expected to visit the Italian capital until the end of the season.
La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Gasperini feels there has been a ‘lack of protection’ and that the ‘risk’ of the head coach walking away from his position at the end of the season isi ‘growing more and more’.
