Ruben Dias has missed the past three matches that Manchester City has played. A hamstring injury kept Dias out of Manchester City’s Carabao Cup final win over Arsenal. The Portuguese international has subsequently missed City’s win over Liverpool and Chelsea due to an undisclosed injury. There was hope that Ruben Dias could return for this Sunday’s top-of-the-table Premier League clash against Arsenal at the Etihad. But that hope has been dashed as the strong centre-back has been ruled out of Sunday’s match.

Simon Bajkowski has revealed for the Manchester Evening News that Ruben Dias won’t play for Manchester City this Sunday against Arsenal. Furthermore, Bajkowski reports that Dias is currently sidelined with an ankle injury. It is also reported by Bajkowski that it is unlikely that Ruben Dias will return this month for an important section of the run-in of the 2025-26 season.
Manchester City are set at the back to soldier on without Ruben Dias.
Ruben Dias will miss his fourth straight match now he has been ruled out of this Sunday’s top-of-the-table Premier League match against Arsenal. Manchester City will miss his leadership at the back, however Marc Guehi does bring leadership to City’s defence in the absence of Ruben Dias. Also, the centre-back pairing of Abdukodir Khusanov and Marc Guehi has become an important component of Pep Guardiola’s side. While Ruben Dias will be missed, City do have adequate cover for their defensive leader.
Ruben Dias will not feature for Manchester City against Arsenal. He also looks set to be sidelined for the remainder of this month. That is a blow for Pep Guardiola’s side but they do look to well set at the back with Marc Guehi and Abdukodir Khusanov forming a formidable centre-back partnership.
