Serie A giants Roma have reportedly added Inter Milan wingback Carlos Augusto to their list of targets ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Giallorossi are monitoring the Brazilian’s current situation at San Siro.
Signed from Monza in 2023, Carlos Augusto has proved to be a valuable asset for the Nerazzurri over the past three years.
Indeed, his tactical flexibility and versatility have made him a key element in Inter’s system.
However, the 27-year-old has failed to secure a regular starting berth in Milan, often playing second fiddle to Alessandro Bastoni and Federico Dimarco.
Roma Interested in Carlos Augusto Amid Uncertain Inter Milan Future
Augusto’s current contract at San Siro runs out in 2028, with Inter keen to tie him down to a new long-term deal.
Yet, after making just 13 Serie A starts this season, Augusto has taken his time to reassess his future options.
Though the Nerazzurri are ready to offer him a significant pay raise, the Brazilian has been hesitant to sign the papers.
Aware of the situation, Roma have reportedly set their sights on the former Monza defender.
Still, the Giallorossi must secure UEFA Champions League qualification if they’re to convince Augusto to move to the Stadio Olimpico.
