Inter Milan and Hakan Calhanoglu will meet at the end of the season to discuss a potential contract renewal.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCinterNews, the player is keen to sign a new deal at San Siro despite ongoing interest from Galatasaray.
Hakan Calhanoglu emerged as Galatasaray’s dream target last summer.
However, the reigning Turkish Super Lig holders failed to lure the 32-year-old to Istanbul despite contacting his agent over a potential transfer.
Furthermore, the former AC Milan midfielder has re-established himself as one of Inter’s standout performers this season.
Indeed, he has tallied nine goals and six assists across 21 Serie A appearances.
Inter Milan & Hakan Calhanoglu to Discuss New Contract in the Summer
Calhanoglu is one of Inter’s highest earners. Indeed, he takes home a whopping €6.5 million net per season.
However, the Turkish playmaker has been prone to injuries this term, making the club cautious about committing to a new deal.
Meanwhile, the player’s agent is not in talks with Galatasaray despite recent rumors suggesting otherwise.
Instead, Calhanoglu is eager to stay at San Siro next season, with his current contract running until 2027.
Though Inter are open to tying him down to a new deal, the Turk may have to take a pay cut to secure fresh terms.
