Inter Milan head coach Cristian Chivu looks set to follow in the footsteps of legendary Italian manager Fabio Capello.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the 45-year-old is inches away from replicating Capello’s historic success from the early 1990s.
Cristian Chivu is on the brink of a massive success in his first full season in charge of a Serie A club.
Indeed, the Romanian tactician replaced Simone Inzaghi at the helm last summer, having overseen only a handful of Serie A games at Parma in 2024/25.
Despite lacking experience in senior management, Chivu has enjoyed a superb maiden season at San Siro.
Inter Milan Boss Cristian Chivu to Replicate Fabio Capello Feat
Fabio Capello won the Serie A title in his first full season in charge of AC Milan back in 1991/92.
Now, more than three decades later, Chivu is on course to achieve the same feat with Inter.
Indeed, the Nerazzurri sit nine points clear of second-placed Napoli following a 4-3 win at Como on Sunday.
With only six games left to play, the San Siro giants are in a commanding position to close out the title race.
Furthermore, Chivu could win the title only 12 months after Napoli pipped Inzaghi’s side to the Scudetto in heartbreaking fashion.
