📊 McTominay's midfield dominance continues with key Napoli strike

Few players have seen a transformation akin to Scott McTominay's, and another big moment for Napoli proves yet again how talismanic he has become for club and country.

In the aftermath of Inter's 5-2 thrashing of Roma last weekend and ahead of their clash with Como later today, Antonio Conte's Partenopei were in desperate need of three points away at Parma, but will thank the Scottish midfielder in the end for rescuing a single point on their travels.

Down a goal after Gabriel Strefezza's first-minute opener, McTominay once again turned up when it mattered most for the Campanian side, stroking home an equalizer in the 60th minute, after his barnstorming run was picked out by Rasmus Højlund.

Though it would not be enough to give Napoli a springboard to a late winner despite their dominance on the pitch at Stadio Ennio Tardini, McTominay's strike saw him become the first central midfielder to bag 20 goals in the last two seasons across Europe's big five leagues.

With Chelsea star Cole Palmer as the only midfielder overall to score more than the Scotsman, his revival is no doubt complete ahead of a World Cup summer that will include the Tartan Army for the first time since 1998.
