Manuel Akanji has set his sights on the Scudetto as Como vs Inter Milan approaches, while praising his growing partnership with Italy defender Alessandro Bastoni.
According to the official Serie A channels, the Swiss centre-back was in bullish mood about the title run-in, insisting Inter must take each game as it comes with seven matches remaining.
“We’re getting closer. There are still seven games, we need to go game by game and focus on ourselves,” he said, with quotes via FCInterNews.
“Hopefully we can get three points in the next match.”
Akanji was keen to temper expectations around the Como fixture specifically.
“If you win this one but then don’t win the others, you don’t become champions. It’s important, but it’s not the decisive one.”

On his relationship with Bastoni, Akanji was warm.
“I get along very well with him, we always talk a bit. And his English is better than my Italian,” he said, adding that the Italian had impressed despite carrying some discomfort from the injury sustained against Milan.
The on-loan Manchester City defender also reflected on his adaptation to Serie A.
“The squad and the entire coaching staff made it easy to settle in,” he said.
When asked to name the toughest striker he has faced, Akanji singled out Rasmus Hojlund.
“When he receives the ball in behind he is powerful and fast. He doesn’t love the ball to feet, but when he attacks space he does it very well.”
