Promotion to the Championship and securing a return to the second-tier after 65 years in record-setting fashion is not enough for a Lincoln City side that also wants the League One title, according to striker Rob Street.

Victory at Reading on Monday, which extended the Imps' club-record unbeaten league run to 24 games, ensured the Imps were going up.

Lincoln can now move to the brink of claiming the third-tier crown if they beat Leyton Orient on Saturday.

If they pick up three points and second-placed Cardiff City lose to fellow promotion hopefuls Bolton Wanderers, the Imps would be 15 points clear of the Bluebirds, who would have an inferior goal difference with only five games remaining.

"We don't want to settle for what we have achieved so far, albeit that is a massive achievement," Street told BBC Radio Lincolnshire.

"We want to go one step further and we are in a really good position to do that, so it would be silly for us to now settle for what we have."

It was more than half the season ago, on 22 November, when Lincoln last lost a league game.

They have won 19 out of 24 matches since to secure promotion to the second tier for the first time since 1961 with five games remaining.

It means they also have the chance to emulate Birmingham City, Sheffield United and Plymouth Argyle in surpassing 100 points in a promotion and title-winning season.

"We are looking forward to carrying on our form going into the last few games of the season," Street said.

"There is a lot still to play for. At the end of the day it has been an amazing season so far, but there are those targets that we want to to continue to tick off and records to beat.

"It is a real exciting time."
