Former Brighton player and Albion Unlimited host Warren Aspinall believes Carlos Baleba must "knuckle down" on his performances for the club.

Baleba, 22, has made 24 league appearances for Brighton this season, but has failed to register a goal or assist.

He was also absent from the squad in their most recent win over Sunderland because of a minor injury.

"What's gone wrong with Baleba this season? I don't know," Aspinall said.

"The switch has gone off in his head, because he just has these moments.

"Lack of concentration, he thinks it's too easy, following the ball up in the air.

"Lateness, this off-the-field thing, we don't know what it is.

"He needs to knuckle down, and James Milner is probably trying to help him as well.

"He'll be saying he wants to stay in the Premier League, because it's the best league in the world.

"You can go to big teams in France and Spain, but this is the best league in the world. It's a step backwards, not a step forwards.

"It gets me frustrated."
