Former Philadelphia Eagles safety Reed Blankenship will sign with the Houston Texans on a three-year, $24.75 million deal, agent Kyle McCarthy of Athletes First said.

The deal includes $16.5M guaranteed.

Blankenship, an undrafted free agent out of Middle Tennessee State in 2022, went from longshot to steady contributor during his time in Philadelphia. He started four games as a rookie and held that post down for the next three seasons.

The 27-year-old Blankenship was part of a championship defense in 2024 that finished first in passing yards allowed (174.2) and second in opponent points per game (17.8).

With a rotating cast opposite him this past season largely because of injuries, defensive coordinator Vic Fangio described him as a "stabilizing player in our defense."

He appeared in 56 games over four seasons in Philadelphia, posting nine interceptions, 23 passes defended and 308 tackles.

ESPN's Tim McManus contributed to this report.
