Inter Milan center-back Alessandro Bastoni reportedly suffered a severe knock in last night’s Serie A derby clash against AC Milan.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the 26-year-old sustained a heavy tibia bruise and could now face a spell on the sidelines.
As expected, Bastoni found himself at Milan fans’ mercy last night.
Indeed, the Rossoneri faithful jeered the Italian defender every time he had the ball due to his antics in last month’s Derby d’Italia.
Furthermore, the hostile atmosphere at San Siro had got the better of Bastoni, who delivered an erratic performance.

Referee Daniele Doveri booked Bastoni for a cynical tackle on Adrien Rabiot midway through the second half.
Indeed, the former Atalanta man tried to stop the Frenchman from launching a counter-attack, committing a tactical foul.

A nasty collision with the Milan midfielder saw Bastoni hit the ground in pain while forcing Cristian Chivu to immediately take off his defensive cornerstone.
Meanwhile, Carlos Augusto took his place.
Now, it’s uncertain whether Bastoni will be available for the upcoming Serie A showdown against Atalanta.
