Neil Warnock says he could remain in temporary charge at Torquay United for a few more games.
The veteran manager, 77, took over on a temporary basis on Sunday after Paul Wotton was sacked following a run of five games without a win.
Warnock took charge of a record 1627th game in professional football on Tuesday when he led the Gulls to a 2-2 with Farnborough.
"They are looking at the applicants, but I would think that'll be a few more days," Warnock told BBC Sport on the club's search for a new manager.
"So in my own mind I think I'll have got tomorrow's game and possibly one next week, it may be two next week, and then obviously they'll have to make a decision on who they want to appoint then."

Warnock will lead fourth-placed Torquay at fifth-placed Ebbsfleet United on Tuesday as the Gulls look to end a six-game run without a win that has seen them slip from three points clear at the top of National League South to nine points off the lead.
Torquay then host Salisbury next Tuesday before Chesham United visit Plainmoor the following Saturday.
"It's a great club. It's a fabulous club. It's a great opportunity for somebody to come in, but it won't be straightforward as everybody's finding out now," Warnock added.
"They will be asking me if I have any opinions.
"I think they're going to try and get down to a shortlist of five, I think they've been inundated with applicants.
"If they get down to a shortlist of five, I'm sure then they'll have a word with me about can I make some inquiries about these five candidates."
