Progress has been made on the player’s side, with talks ongoing with Rennes. The French club are reluctant to sell in January but could be tempted into an early deal ahead of the summer window — and Chelsea are trying to force it through.
Liverpool are also in the race and have held talks with the player’s agents. Bayern have made contact too, but Premier League clubs are currently the most aggressive.
